Nepal is one of the beautiful country in this planet and we all Nepalese are proud of Nepal to be as an independent country for all the time. Of course these days it has become only in saying that Nepal is an independent county. The world has always been dominated by big power to the smaller one. This exists in all living beings in animals, and as well as in humans. Nepal geographically is a land lock country which three poles east, west and south shares border with India and the north with china. And these two big giant countries had and will always overshadow our existence in this planet.

After collapse of Soviet Union in 1991 the world became uni-polar ruled by US but one and half decades later economic and global political situation has forced USA to acknowledge the world heading towards multi-polar system again. This means multiple countries are merging to become as a super power or at least continental power. The dollar which had become a world reserve currency of the world enjoyed since mid 1940 after the troubled and unstable economy of UK that forced to give up its pound as a world reserve currency. But this recent economic down turn in USA which has effected all over the world have given the chance to countries like Russia and China to think and create an idea of multi reserve currency for the trade or Supra currency where the dollar was dominating for the past half a century. This means soon in the future there are possibilities that we might experience the trade being done in multiple world reserve currencies.

The people living in this planet fought the two World War I & II. It will be a disaster in today’s modern world if there will be the III world war where vary of sophisticated weapons with nuclear bombs can destroy the world in a single minute. There are still some possibilities that the world could spark with war for some reasons. First Energy and second for the Fresh Drinking Water. And one of the factors for the flash points could be the North Pole Artic Ocean. Five countries including two big super power countries Russia and US are already rushing to claim the territories because it is believed that one third of the reserve oil and gas is stocked underneath the ocean bed rock and today due to the global warming and developed high tech it is being accessible to drill the core. So if there will be no peaceful solution sitting around the table there could be the sparking issue in the 21st century. Today human rights and democracy are criticized only to those countries having weaker economy and anti coalition to the west, but does not apply for super power itself. In my thinking it is definitely not the mater of freedom in top priorities in the case of Afghanistan rather than rushing to grab its regional influence in south Asia as it has done in Asia pacific, Middle East, and Europe. The results is innocent civilians are becoming the victim for this geopolitical game. There is been no any criticism of US foreign policy and the Human Rights because most of the western countries are allied with USA. And same thing is happening in Iraq. But in both regarding Iraq and Afghanistan they have come to realize the war can not be won only with its sophisticated weapons alone.
The central Asian countries which were lost its existence after the Soviet Union collapse are rich for oil and gas. Today Russia has been able to make its influence in these countries. All the gas which Russia exports to Europe is brought in cheaper price from these countries and sells in double. USA is more concern than Europe today that some day Russia might use its oil wealth as a weapon to achieve their geo-political needs because Europe is becoming more and more reliant on Russian gas and oil. That is one of the reasons why USA and its allies are giving much attention in the central Asian countries like Georgia, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan. On other side Russia which effectively revive to become one of the top largest economy again in the world in a short period after the fall of Soviet Union made it possible to grab its own influence in south America, where once was dominated by US, managed to establish as a BRIC countries together with China, India, and Brazil and established a Shangai Cooperation Organization SCO, which is been guess by west to counter against the NATO Allies. Russia is also becoming more active investing in Africa, Middle East and Asia. That is why the world including US has acknowledge that Russia is back to play a vital role as a global leader. Last year a short war that was fought between Georgia and Russia is another vital caucus region where USA and Russia is becoming more active to make its influence stronger. It is being irritation to USA that Russia holds the cards in its hand and is being able to take the advantage from this regions oil wealth. These are some of the factors that the relation between the two countries had reached as low as during the cold war period. And once this major p_layer_ relation gets worst we the rest have to bear the consequences.

So if Energy and Fresh Drinking Water will be the vital issue for the 21st century, Nepal is rich with its natural recourses. Geographically our rivers flow in a various range of altitude from 8000 plus to 60 meter above the sea level. This is the advantage we have got for constructing cheap environmental friendly energy. It is estimated about 75000 MW of installed capacity in which about 45000 MW in present time is viable economically as well as technically. Today Nepal has developed only around 2000 MW in entire country. We all Nepalese people must admit today that every cubic meter per second flow of water flowing in all our rivers could turn in billions of dollars revenue each year to our country. The Gross domestic Product (GDP) of our country could be one of the largest in the world if at least 50% of the project could be built up. The budget of our country could be realistic with 90% having its own income capital where in today one of the poorest budgets of the world is estimated hypothetically adding 60% of foreign aids. Nepal’s foreign policy is limited only with India and China. We must seek other alternatives of investment in our country. India definitely does not want Nepal being strong economically. India is refusing to sign for memorandum of Understanding (MOU) deal agreement for purchase of energy because India understands more reliable to foreign energy will be more dependent to these countries. So I think beside china and India we must try to cooperate with more other countries for example Russia. There are several reasons to mention the country Russia. First Russia is one of the experienced countries in the world with technology and knowledge for developing Hydro Power energy. It has utilized 99% of its own hydro resources and generated the power. Second they are financially capable for any scale of project and interested in investment. Third the most important Russia has much good foreign relation and influence on India rather than USA which would be the effective way to approach and deal with India for our energy purchase.
Today the majority of the Nepalese people are involved or looking forward to be involved in politics. I am not against of people being aware of politics but the percentage involved in politics in our country is sky-scraping where below 1% of population are only involved in developing countries. Each of us is aiming to be a politician because in Nepal politician profession has become the easiest way to be well known and earn wealth via corruption. I think politics are not for every one, only talented and well educated with the political vision and idea must focus his goal for building his career in politics. Engineers, doctors, professors, teachers, lawyers, businessman, farmers, labor etc each of this division are the locomotive of the country and are very important to be associate on their own related jobs. In Nepal political parties are occupying all the fundamental unions like teachers, students, labors, etc. Those unions must not be affiliated to none of the parties, where we see today those organizations are used as a tool by political parties to bargain their demands and fulfill their needs in Nepal. In every family household there is a chief taking the responsibility trying to do his/her best for happiness and prosperity of his/her family. The politician who is able to take such a responsibility must only be the country’s leader. We Nepalese voters must not be associated in any party except those who are focus to build their carrier in politics, instead we must vote to the leader who has a capability to take the country’s responsibility. And as for me I support that leader no mater which party he/she represents. The time has come to our leaders and people to demonstrate their faith and capabilities in behalf of our country’s prosperity. So my conclusion is the leader must act today for his responsibilities being aware of our country’s natural wealth which is equally most important to turn our potential energy into the most valuable energy of the 21st century. If we don’t act today then some day our country can be the victim for the needs of the energy and water for some other super countries. We Nepalese will lose our country’s pride for ever. Today this is one the only way to get out of overshadow from India and China and demonstrate the world that Nepal also exist in this planet.
